Bergerac* came to life! It will be followed by Cédric Klapisch’s singular
Parisian romance, *SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE

(Grâce à Dieu)*, Francois Ozon’s dramatization of a current real-life

HISTORICAL COMEDY
*Rated R for brief nudity **Screening followed by Q&A with Le Professeur
Kevin Elstob.*
*Cyrano, My Love* is a fictionalized, crowd-pleasing tale of how Edmond
Rostand’s famous play *Cyrano de Bergerac *came to life. Alexis Michalik’s
spirited film is pure delight from beginning to end. In the tradition
of *Shakespeare
in Love*, the film mixes historical facts with a heavy dose of fiction, as
Rostand’s inspiration emerges from the most unlikely places. The film just won
the AMERICAN STUDENTS AWARD at the COLCOA Film Festival in Los Angeles.

(*Deux Moi*, 110 min, 2019) by Cédric Klapisch
PARISIAN ROMANCE
*Not Rated (all audiences)*
After setting recent films in New York City and Burgundy, Cédric Klapisch
reunites with his beloved city of Paris in this singular romance that ends
where romantic comedies usually begin. In the tender and deliberately
optimistic *Someone, Somewhere*, Klapisch follows his two main characters
on their parallel paths to self-discovery, until they are ready to finally
meet. Klapisch creates a moving and funny portrait of two young people who
are both struggling with themselves and with human relationships in today's
Paris. MORE...

(*Le Grand Bain*, 123 min, 2018) by Gilles Lellouche
FEEL-GOOD ENSEMBLE COMEDY
*Not Rated (adult situations, drug use)*
Mathieu Amalric leads an all-star cast in this hilarious, feel-good buddy
comedy directed by actor Gilles Lellouche, about a male synchronized
swimming team of unlikely athletes tackling midlife crises while
celebrating their inner Esther Williams. Also starring Guillaume Canet,
Jean-Hugues Anglade, and singer Philippe Katerine in a role that earned him
the 2019 César (French Oscar) for Best Supporting Actor. MORE...

*7:10pm - BY THE GRACE OF GOD

à Dieu, 137 min, 2019) by François Ozon
TRUE DRAMA / CRIME
*Not Rated (adult situations, disturbing subject) *
*Screening followed by Q&A with Le Professeur Kevin Elstob. *
With *By the Grace of God*, his deliberate homage to *Spotlight*, the
versatile François Ozon helms a gripping dramatization of a child sexual
abuse scandal in the Catholic Church in France. The film tells the story of
three survivors, now adult men, each of whom plays an important role in
holding to account the Archbishop of Lyon, accused of covering up the abuse
committed by a priest in his diocese for more than 30 years. The film won
the Silver Bear Award at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival.
