SPACE DOCUMENTARY in IMAX®, NARRATED IN ENGLISH
Ride the immersive power of 4K IMAX® LASER technology and 3D audio on a
journey into space with Thomas Pesquet, the European Space Agency’s (ESA)
youngest astronaut, and the 10th French astronaut to travel into space.
Enjoy the highlights of his six-month space odyssey, the Proxima Mission,
400 km above the Earth.
Directed by Franco-German duo Pierre-Emmanuel Le Goff and Jürgen
Hansen, *Through
the Eyes of an Astronaut *is a 27-minute documentary based on images shot
on board (and outside) of the International Space Station (ISS). Pesquet
docked with the ISS in November 2016 for a 196-day, 17-hour, and 49-minute
mission. The filmmakers and Pesquet had agreed to a shooting plan before
the mission, but the result exceeded their expectations! Pesquet kept a
daily visual diary - he brought back more than 600 hours of footage,
including 40 in IMAX® format, sharing his thoughts and feelings on the
beauty and fragile nature of our planet, and man’s place in the universe. *FIND

*RETURN OF THE HERO* by Laurent Tirard
*12:30pm - RETURN OF THE HERO*
(Le Retour du héros, 90 min, 2018) by Laurent Tirard
PERIOD COMEDY starring JEAN DUJARDIN & MÉLANIE LAURENT
"Dry your tears," says dashing Capitaine Charles-Grégoire Neuville
(Oscar-winner Jean Dujardin) to his new aristocratic fiancée Pauline as
duty calls him to the battlefield. "I will write every day!" But of course
he never writes, and Pauline falls so ill that the doctor fears for her
life. To save her younger sister, headstrong Elisabeth (the delightful
Mélanie Laurent) starts writing and sending her romantic and heroic letters
signed by the Captain. Pauline's life is saved, but Elisabeth's imposture
will take on a life of its own, as the "fake news" of the Captain's heroism
spreads around town.
*Return of the Hero* is a lavish 19th-century screwball comedy, sweet and
clever, giving the expressive Dujardin one of the physical roles in which
he excels. The chemistry between him and Laurent makes for witty and
hilarious scenes. She hates him. He despises her. The classic recipe for
romance… Or, as director Laurent Tirard puts it, “It is a Jean-Paul
Belmondo character suddenly dropping into a Jane Austen world.” *FIND MORE

(Au revoir là-haut, 117 min, 2017) by Albert Dupontel
WWI DARK COMEDY – BEST DIRECTOR & four other CÉSAR AWARDS
1919. While France is quick to honor its fallen soldiers by erecting war
memorials, it proves unwilling to support the veterans who returned home.
Two survivors of the trenches, Albert (actor-director Albert Dupontel), a
humble accountant, and Edouard (Nahuel Pérez Biscayart), a young artist who
saved Albert’s life during the war, losing his lower jaw in the process,
can only rely on each other. They barely survive until Edouard comes up
with an extravagant idea: set up a swindle by selling phony monuments to
French towns looking to honor their war dead. In the France of the Roaring
Twenties, the undertaking will prove to be as dangerous as it is
spectacular.
Tackling serious subjects with a humorous touch, *See You Up There* is both
a post-World War I epic – with a particularly spectacular opening battle
scene – and a highly entertaining, dark and surrealist comedy led by
Dupontel (*9 Month Stretch*) in his most ambitious film yet. Nominated for
13 César Awards, *See You Up There* won five, including Best Director and
Best Adapted Screenplay. Visually stunning, it will look magnificent on the
giant IMAX® screen! *FIND MORE HERE!*

FEEL-GOOD ENSEMBLE COMEDY
Max, who has been a wedding planner for thirty years and is a bit blasé, is
in charge of yet another magnificent wedding today. As usual, he has
coordinated everything: he has hired a brigade of waiters, cooks, and
dishwashers; advised the couple on a photographer; reserved the band; and
arranged the floral decorations. In short, he brought together all the best
ingredients to ensure that the celebration is a success. His pragmatic
motto is “We adapt...” and there will be plenty of opportunities to do just
that, as nothing goes as planned and the event is always on the brink of
turning into disaster and chaos.
Olivier Nakache & Éric Toledano (directors of the French hit *The
Intouchables*, and *Samba* - winner of the Sacramento French Film
Festival’s 2016 Audience Prize) are back with an expertly composed and
hugely enjoyable – often even hilarious – ensemble comedy that was filmed
almost entirely in a seventeenth century castle. The jubilant *C’est la
vie!* makes us experience the wedding from behind the scenes, through the
gaze of those who work and who, despite everything, are ultimately united
by the common goal to make the party an unforgettable success. Don't miss
this delightful feel-good comic gem, with a sweet love story added to the
mix!

DARK THRILLER starring VINCENT CASSEL
Director Érick Zonca – whose *The Dreamlife of Angels *remains one of the
more memorable French art house films of the late 1990s – returns after a
10-year absence with a dark crime thriller with a twist.
When Dany, the Arnault family’s teenage son, vanishes one morning on his
way to school, the case is assigned to François Visconti (Vincent Cassel),
an alcoholic, world-weary, and disillusioned detective whose personal life
is a mess (his wife has left him and his own teenage son is mixed up in
drug trafficking). Drunk but still functional, Visconti starts exploring
various clues, while getting too close to Dany's distressed mother, Solange
(Sandrine Kiberlain). Discounting his colleagues' theories about ISIS
recruitment, he soon finds himself on the heels of a neighbor who formerly
tutored Dany, Yann Bellaile (Romain Duris), whose close interest in the
case appears suspicious. With a solid mystery at its core, *Black Tide* is
an engrossing film that will keep you on the edge of your seat: what
happened to Dany?... *FIND MORE HERE!*
