Carla Meyer - Sacramento Bee

*Dear Friends of the SFFF,*

It is hard to believe that 2020 is almost over! Today, we are thankful for
being safe and still able to enjoy good films, it's been a wild year.

When we got together in person on February 27 for the 13th Winter Shorts
Fest at the Tower Theatre, little did we know that it would be the last
time of the year. After the shutdown in March, the Sacramento French Film
Festival quickly engaged in innovative ways to break the isolation and get
together online, with Virtual Cinema offerings, Netflix Watch Parties, and
feel-good Zoom Discussions.

*In June 2020, we were among the first to reinvent what a film festival can
be during a pandemic*. Two virtual film festivals later, we hope that, even
as we remain physically apart, we have helped you feel connected and
brought you joy and comfort. Along the way, we were even able to share our
programs with new friends around the country, and talk to some amazing and
insightful filmmakers from their homes in France.

*In 2021, the Sacramento French Film Festival is turning 20!*

We don’t know when –and if- theaters will reopen, but *we are eager to
celebrate our 20th year with you throughout 2021, with special screenings
added to our regular annual events*. Whether we end up back in a theater,
remain online, or a mix of both, we cannot do it without your support!
Organizing screenings on a virtual platform is still very costly, between
renting the platform, paying for the rights to show the films, and
promoting our events, to name only our main expenses.

*If the SFFF helped make this strange year a bit easier for you & if you
are looking forward to celebrate with us in 2021, please, show your support
by making a donation on Giving Tuesday, December 1st*.

Receiving your donation now makes it easier for us to make plans for our
20th year celebrations. We offer two options to donate online:

•* Paypal <http://www.sacramentofrenchfilmfestival.org/contribute.htm>* (click
on the yellow donate button)
• *Square <https://squareup.com/market/sac-french-film-festival/donation>*

Your donation, added to those of other passionate individuals like you, is
instrumental to keep us alive and maintain the quality, diversity, and
success of our programs. *Thank you for being a friend of the Festival!*
