before its release in France!*
Full of amazing physical comedy and intricately choreographed slapstick,
LOST IN PARIS is a wonderful, fun and hectic tale of peculiar people
finding love in the City of Lights. Though they are barely known in the
U.S., actors and co-directors Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon (he is
Belgian, she is Canadian) have been making films together for 20 years.
Filmed in their signature whimsical style, LOST IN PARIS is a fabulous
introduction to their work.

his daughters, Janine and Mercredi. When he forgets to pick up Mercredi one
too many times at school, a social worker is sent to scrutinize the
family's daily routines. And soon Denis is sent to a parental training
course. Will the eccentric family be able to conform in order to remain
together?

• *8pm – FRANTZ
<http://www.sacramentofrenchfilmfestival.org/movie2016minifest_frantz.htm>*
(113 min) by François Ozon, 2016 – WARTIME MELODRAMA
In a small German town shortly after the end of World War I, Anna (Paula
Beer) makes daily visit to the grave of her fiancé Frantz, killed in the
trenches in France. One day she is intrigued by a mysterious young man who
has come to lay flowers on Frantz’s grave. Deeply moving and enthrallingly
beautiful, FRANTZ is a pure melodrama, with romance and tears. It is also
full of hope as we follow Anna on her journey toward independence and a new
future.

and Dr. Jeffrey K. Wilson (Specialist in modern German history, Associate
Professor & Chair, History Department, CSUS).*
