*
*CULT POETIC REALIST DRAMA*
With its iconic stars (Arletty, Louis Jouvet, Annabella, Jean-Pierre
Aumont) and dialog that most French people know by heart ("*Atmosphère ?
Atmosphère ? Est-ce que j'ai une gueule d'atmosphère ?*"), *Hôtel Du
Nord*is a quintessential classic. At the Hôtel du Nord, on the bank of
the Canal
Saint Martin in Paris, working-class people meet small-time crooks and
tragic figures. A film noir precursor, it is emblematic of Marcel Carné’s
"poetic realism".

COMEDY* - RERUN ON THURSDAY, JUNE 22 @ 5:30pm
Our favorite contemporary French singer and provocateur Philippe Katerine,
presented in his first starring role, in the surreal comedy, *I Am a No
Man’s Land. *In this quirky comedy, Philippe (Philippe Katerine), a pop
star on the verge of a nervous breakdown, is cursed by a revengeful groupie

ornithologist studying birds' nocturnal mating behaviors (Julie Depardieu,
Gérard Depardieu's daughter) may help him get back to reality…
