Awesome. It'll be a long day, but it's fun :).

Lets meet @ the Starbucks behind the McDonalds in this shopping ctr:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=105+Bernal+Rd,+San+Jose+CA&ll=37.234599,-121.765165&spn=0.026036,0.059395

Time- how does a 9:00AM departure sound? Arrive at 8:30AM for gas and coffee?

The route will be... leaving that parking lot:

Left on Santa Theresa

Right on Bernal

Left on McKean, which turns into Uvas

Right on Watsonville

Right on Hecker Pass over 152. Stop for a drink of water at the top of Mt Madonna

Left on Carlton

Right on Lakeview

Right 129

Left on Main St/Porter/Salinas Rd

Left on Elkhorn

Right on Dolan

Immediate Left on Castroville

Right on 156 which merges into Hwy 1 South

Slab through Monterey/Carmel

Stop for pictures at a vista point or two on the way to Big Sur

(Optional stop, $5 entrance fee) Right on a little road a few miles south of Big Sur at Pfeiffer Beach (not labeled from Hwy 1, neat place). Lunch place doesn't open until 11:30, so we may only stop here if we're early.

Continue south on Hwy 1 for a few more miles

Lunch @ Nepenthe

Continue south on Hwy 1 for approx 25 miles

Left on Naciemento Rerguson Rd which takes us through Fort Hunter-Leggett

******************IMPORTANT NOTICE***********************
You will need to show your license, registration, and proof
of insurance to get through the fort!
Make sure you have it handy.

Jolon Rd N to 101. Gas at Chevron station here in King City.

101 North approx 10 miles into Greenfield. Exit/Left on Elm St.

Left on Arroyo Seco Rd which turns into Carmel Valley Rd (this road is FUN).

Right on Laurles Grade Rd

That takes us to Hwy 68. From there we turn right and it'll take us into Salinas where we take 101 N home.

Sound good? :)

I've got a number of GMRS capable 2-way radios I'll bring with me.
