Kevin,
You might consider an amendment to the bylaws for these such events
since I am sure this will not be the last time such zoning issues crop
up between meetings and since the group association only meets every
other month this might be a prudent idea.

Scott,
Based on the Bylaws, we don't have enough time to schedule a meeting
prior to the zoning meeting. We must first give at least one week
notice to the membership. The best thing we could do at this point, is
to show up in large numbers at the zoning meeting to voice our
opposition. If nothing is finalized on the 14th, then we could still
call a special meeting of the membership.
Does anyone know for certain whether the zoning proposal will get an "up
or down" vote on the 14th? I will get with the other Board members to
see if we want to go ahead and plan for a special meeting of the
membership. If so, we could plan on meeting next Thursday or Friday, as
long as the communication goes out tomorrow.

In addition to our participation as individuals, can HNA take an
official position on this matter? I think that according to article 3
of our bylaws it can, especially since one of the primary goals in that
same article is to "maintain and restore a neighborhood of single family
dwellings."
The zoning meeting is the day before our next meeting. Do we need to
call a special meeting to take a vote or what?

The house at 300 S Germantown (Corner of Lerch and Germantown) has
applied for spot zoning for a daycare facility. This is likely to cause
a few issues in an already congested area. We should expect to see
increased traffic, along with increased cut through traffic that was
cut down by the speed humps. Additionally, if they win approval for a
curb cut on Germantown, that would be disastrous for traffic. Imagine
all the folks who get off in the late afternoon coming down Germantown
and turning left or right into a parking lot and all the pileups that
would happen as the fast drivers exited 24 and came down Germantown and
were surprised by the brake lights at the hill. Also, this will cause
additional street parking as well at the en trance to Lerch Street.
There is a hearing May 14th at 10am at 1000 Lindsay Street. I am
planning to attend and think it would be good for others in the
neighborhood to attend as well.
