The house at 300 S Germantown (Corner of Lerch and Germantown) has applied
for spot zoning for a daycare facility. This is likely to cause a few
issues in an already congested area. We should expect to see increased
traffic, along with increased cut through traffic that was cut down by the
speed humps. Additionally, if they win approval for a curb cut on
Germantown, that would be disastrous for traffic. Imagine all the folks who
get off in the late afternoon coming down Germantown and turning left or
right into a parking lot and all the pileups that would happen as the fast
drivers exited 24 and came down Germantown and were surprised by the brake
lights at the hill. Also, this will cause additional street parking as well
at the entrance to Lerch Street.
There is a hearing May 14th at 10am at 1000 Lindsay Street. I am planning
to attend and think it would be good for others in the neighborhood to
attend as well.
